How to Log into 1Password
(Desktop App, Browser Extension & Mobile)
Your 1Password account has already been set up for you.
🖥️ Logging in via Desktop App
The 1Password app should open automatically when you start your computer.
If it doesn’t:
➡️ Double-click the 1Password shortcut on your desktop to open it manually.
To log in:
- Open the app
- Enter your Master Password
- Press Enter — you're in!
🌐 Logging in via Browser Extension
Use this when autofilling passwords on websites.
To log in:
- Click the 1Password icon in your browser toolbar
- Enter your Master Password if prompted
Once unlocked, it stays open while you browse.
📱 Logging in on Your Phone
Open the 1Password app on your mobile device.
- iPhone/Android: Use Face ID, fingerprint, or enter your Master Password
🛠️ Troubleshooting Tips
If something isn’t working, try one of these quick fixes:
- 🔄 Restart your computer or phone — this often resolves the issue
- 🔐 Quit and restart the desktop app:
- Click the 1Password icon near the clock in the bottom-right (Windows system tray)
- Right-click it and choose Quit
- Then reopen the app and try logging in again
- 🔁 Close and reopen your browser (if the extension is acting up)
> 💡 Restarting the app or device often resolves common login or sync issues.
